Rega Planar 6 Turntable - Listen to the Music
As Rega says, the new Planar 6 has one goal,to reproduce vinyl as accurately as possible. That's a big statement but the technology that Rega brings to the design to this new offering certainly lends itself to being a great sounding turntable.Technologies seen only in the top end RP8 and RP10 models are now incorporated into the new Planar 6.
Rega has been designing and manufacturing turntables since 1973.They have won more awards than any other turntable manufacturer in history for their accuracy in reproducing music. Rega's strategy of not having a marketing budget and spending all their resources on research and development has paid off in spades.
Improvements over the old award winning RP6 model are substantial. Starting with the sandwich construction plinth first seen in the RP8 and RP10. It has a single piece machined aluminium sub platter for speed stability. A new 24 volt hand tuned motor matched to the new NEO power supply along with a new upgrade drive belt ensure maximum speed accuracy. The RB330 handmade precision tonearm ensures exceptional tracking of the grooves and therefore optimal music information retrieval. It is also available with an optional factory fitted Ania moving coil cartridge.
The hifi press have already been piling on the accolades on the Rega Planar 6. What HiFi magazine said in their review......."it has an unnerving ability to juggle balance, subtlety and timing in the most understated way. It's a frankly astonishingly refined and mature sound........The Planar 6's balanced, mature presentation is something you'll appreciate the more you listen to it."
