The Klipschorn^®, the first Klipsch speaker ever produced, is bolder and more beautiful than ever. The new Klipschorn AK7 Premium Loudspeaker features book-matched veneers in Black Ash, American Walnut, and new American Auburn colorways, as well as a new extended phase plug, cinema-grade 3" compression driver, patented Tractrix mid-range horn with Mumps technology, and an optional active external DSP designed to bring out the best in our legacy loudspeaker.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

For over 75 years, the Klipschorn has defined high-efficiency home audio. The first Klipsch speaker ever produced, and in continuous production longer than any other, the Klipschorn is the manifestation of Paul W. Klipsch’s approach to sound, designed to bring the power, detail, and emotion of live music out of the club and into the living room.

ACTIVE & PASSIVE SETUPS

To accommodate the Heritage Active Crossover and give listeners more options, we’ve modified the I/O panel. It now includes passive and active inputs and a passive output, so customizing your setup is easy. We’ve also moved the panel to the speaker’s back for a cleaner look from almost any angle.

EXTENDED PHASE PLUG FOR HEAVENLY HIGHS

We’ve paired our K-771 compression driver with a new, patented, extended phase plug to prevent cancellations and equalize wavelengths for cleaner dispersion. That means you get more coverage and clarity than ever before.

3" COMPRESSION DRIVER PUMPS UP THE POWER

Our new, cinema grade, mid-range K1133 compression driver adds a full inch to the drivers on previous AK6 models. Hand-built in Hope, Arkansas, the larger compression area increases sound pressure to the horn’s throat for more voluptuous volume.

SPREAD THE SOUNDSTAGE WITH TRACTRIX AND MUMPS

The AK7 gets the Tractrix^® treatment. The new K-406M patented Tractrix mid-range horn features a shorter, 2" throat for unparalleled presence and precision. Mumps technology improves coverage, adding small contours to help maintain frequency response to the horn’s edge.

OPTIONAL HERITAGE ACTIVE CROSSOVER EXTENDS PERFORMANCE

The AK7 was meticulously engineered with an optional Heritage Active Crossoverin mind, which has been tuned specifically for Klipschorn speakers by masteracoustician and PWK protégé Roy Delgado. Trickle-down technology from ourheralded Jubilee floorstanding speakers, the Heritage Active Crossover aligns timeand phase while boosting frequencies and balancing EQ for a flat, color-free response.

THREE-WAY, HORN-LOADED EFFICIENCY

The Klipschorn’s three-way, horn-loaded system delivers exceptional efficiency.For the AK7, we couple each driver to a precisely measured horn and optimize itfor one of three pass-bands. This design generates greater acoustic power withless wattage, producing crystal clear sound with minimal distortion across thefrequency spectrum.

BRING OUT THE BASS

The Klipschorn’s fully enclosed low-frequency horn, paired with the powerfulK-33-E 15” woofer, delivers deep, rich bass with remarkable clarity and impact. Itsinnovative folded horn design increases bass extension and efficiency.
