Audio Technica will not tell you that this is their copy of the legendary Technics SL1200 DJ turntable which dates back to 1972 and was manufactured until 2010.Technics are currently releasing a new upgraded version at a massive $4000 US Dollars.Technics claim that there has been significant upgrades to the SL1200 and the fact that they had to retool everything except the lid are the reasons for the hefty price tag.The Audio Technica looks almost identical but includes some extra features such as an inbuilt Phono Pre-amplifier and the ability to output via USB to record the records on your computer for a fraction of the price of the Technics..This means that you can connect this turntable to a Mac or PC where thanks to it's Analogue to Digital Converter and the bundled Audacity software,records can be directly copied to a hard drive.

To make it a good DJ turntable it has adjustable speed or pitch control to allow mixing of tracks...and it is heavy....to avoid the effects of outside vibration."What Hifi" magazine says of the Audio Technica AT-LP120  turntable....."All of which makes the AT-LP120 USB turntable a formidably priced proposition......this is a sturdy record player that does everything one could expect at a very reasonable price."It received 4 out of 5 stars in their review.
