The Cornwall was initially introduced in 1959 to serve as a larger, full-range alternative to the Heresy. When it was discontinued in 1990, there was an outcry from consumers resulting in a letter-writing campaign and even a petition to bring back this storied loudspeaker.
It took a while, but we are happy to announce that this famed speaker, now dubbed the Cornwall III, is back and better than ever. A three-way design using horn-loaded compression drivers for the midrange and treble and a direct-radiating 15-inch woofer for the low frequencies, the Cornwall delivers the full-range bass response of the Klipschorn with sensitivity and output approaching the fully horn-loaded models.
Inside, the Cornwall IV features a new, mid-frequency driver and a new midrange Tractrix™ horn for improved better clarity and detail, as well as new ports for expanded clarity and deeper bass.
The outside of the Cornwall IV is a change from its predecessors as well. It features a new logo design scripted to match other Heritage products, a new matte black riser to give a floating appearance, and an updated brushed metal premium input panel.
As the "largest of the compact” Heritage speakers, the Cornwall IV offers the highest performance of any non-fully horn-loaded speaker Klipsch make.
Only the legendary Klipschorn and La Scala (with their horn-loaded, low-frequency designs) exceed the Cornwall in bass extension and output.
The little town of Hope, Arkansas is the birthplace of the Klipsch Cornwall speaker. Assembled with handmade cabinets since 1959, they are proud to continue to build and assemble these hand-crafted speakers in Hope.
EFFORTLESS EFFICIENCY
The genesis of something very, very special occurred in a tiny tin shed in Hope, Arkansas in 1946 when Paul W. Klipsch, genius, madman and maverick, designed and hand built the legendary Klipschorn® speaker to enable people, for the first time ever, to experience the power, detail and emotion of a live performance at home. Remember great sound? We do, too.
DESIGNED AND MADE IN THE USA USING DOMESTIC AND IMPORTED COMPONENTS
Like all Klipsch Heritage speakers, The Cornwall is a lifetime investment. Built to the strictest Klipsch standards, these speakers offer years of gratifying performance. Remember great sound? We do, too. The Klipsch Cornwall enclosure is made in the USA, by proud craftsmen in Hope, Arkansas, just like Paul W. Klipsch (PWK) intended.
