Each one of Rega's moving magnet cartridges is hand assembled to the highest standard by their highly trained technicians.The design and assembly procedure focus on one simple goal,extracting as much music from your vinyl as possible.Each Rega cartridge uses a pair of parallel wound coils which are carefully assembled on custom jigs to create a working stereo generator.Each cartridge is tested and checked over 2 days to ensure all the strict parameters for each model are met.

The Rega Elys 2 cartridge is a one piece moulding made of Pocan,a polymer with hardness greater than industrial aluminium.Most cartridges lose their high frequency energy by the movements generated in many joints created in conventional manufacturing.Most cartridges have 5 or 6 joints between the stylus mounting and the cartridge/headshell face.Rega cartridges have none.Most cartridges have to allow for large tolerances when manufacturing automatically with a reasonable gap of 0.7mm between the moving magnet and the pole pieces.The gap on Rega's cartridges is only 0.25mm,much lower than most other cartridges.
