The Ultimate Analogue Phono Stage for the Linn Sondek LP12

The Linn Urika is a high-performance internal moving coil (MC) phono stage designed specifically for the Linn Sondek LP12 turntable, delivering an exceptional analogue signal path by placing the phono circuitry directly inside the turntable plinth.

It's designed to work exclusively with the Linn Radikal motor control and power supply system, Urika combines ultra-short signal paths, advanced isolation and precision analogue engineering to extract the maximum performance from a high-end LP12 configuration.

By positioning the phono stage as close as possible to the tonearm, Urika minimises cable length, reducing potential signal loss and unwanted noise. The result is a cleaner, more direct connection between the cartridge and amplification system, allowing more musical detail, clarity and dynamics to be preserved.

Designed Around the Linn Radikal System

The Linn Urika Phono Stage requires the Linn Radikal motor control and power supply system for operation. This stunning partnership provides both the power required by the phono stage and the precise motor control needed by the LP12’s advanced DC motor system.  By sharing the Radikal’s exceptionally clean and stable power supply, Urika benefits from a low-noise electrical environment while allowing the LP12 motor and phono stage to operate at their highest level of performance.

Together, Radikal and Urika create a highly integrated source solution, allowing the Sondek LP12 to deliver exceptional timing, transparency and musical realism.

Integrated Internal Design

Unlike conventional external phono stages, Linn'a Urika is installed directly within the LP12 plinth, placing the sensitive analogue circuitry closer to the tonearm and cartridge than ever before.

This approach dramatically reduces the length of the signal path, helping to minimise interference, capacitance and potential signal degradation. By capturing the cartridge signal as early as possible, Urika preserves more of the subtle information contained within the record groove.

The phono stage is mounted on its own integrated Trampolin Baseboard, providing additional mechanical isolation and protecting the sensitive circuitry from unwanted vibration.

Dual Mono Analogue Architecture

The Linn Urika features a true dual mono design, with separate circuitry for the left and right channels.  This configuration eliminates potential crosstalk between channels, improving stereo separation, imaging and overall clarity. The result is a more open and precise soundstage, with improved spatial accuracy and a more realistic presentation.

Flexible High-Quality Outputs

Urika provides both direct-coupled RCA and transformer-coupled XLR outputs, allowing seamless integration with a wide range of high-quality analogue preamplifiers. This type of flexibility ensures the LP12 can be optimised for different system configurations while maintaining excellent signal integrity and performance.

Why We Recommend the Linn Urika Phono Stage

The Linn Urika is one of the most sophisticated ways to maximise the performance of a Radikal-equipped Sondek LP12 system. By moving the phono stage inside the turntable and placing it directly alongside the tonearm, Linn has created an exceptionally short and clean signal path that preserves the delicate information captured by the cartridge.

Combined with the Linn Radikal, Urika delivers outstanding clarity, precision and musical engagement, with improved dynamics, lower noise and a more immersive soundstage. Its dual mono design, advanced isolation and flexible output options make it a perfect partner for high-performance analogue systems.

For LP12 owners seeking the highest level of analogue playback with a traditional analogue preamplifier, the Linn Urika is a transformative upgrade that allows the legendary Sondek LP12 to perform at its absolute best.
