Rega RP6

Rega Research is a high end audio equipment manufacturer based in the UK.Rega was founded in 1973.In 2014,Rega maintains a custom built factory and has 90 to 100 employees.It has no marketing department,,but produces every model in the UK and tries to maintain UK based parts suppliers as well.Interestingly,the only advertisement Rega ever ran was to say it doesn't advertise,preferring to invest every penny into research and product development.

Take a peak inside Rega's trophy cabinet and you will find a couple of "What Hi-Fi" awards confirming their hearty admiration of the Rega RP6/Exact cartridge combination.It's been their goto package for the last few years.

The Rega RP6 uses a layered glass platter which is thicker and heavier on the outside of the disc.This increases inertia and helps to improve speed stability,without adding too much weight to the plinth and main bearing.Rega's engineers have long felt too much mass spoils the sound.Rega ensures extra rigidity using a special resin coating.....and it also adds extra bracing between the tonearm and the main bearing.

So what does this all mean to your musical enjoyment?The reviewers all agree that this turntable will provide a meaningful listening experience.....what I can add to this after listening to a RP6/Exact combo is that you just want to put on another record

We had a very special product training night recently with a special guest Scott from Synnergy,the Australian distributor  of Rega.Scott was working for Rega in the UK for many years,travelling the world and experiencing engineering excellence at Rega.He spoke of the the training the personnel at Rega received including the intensive training involving the hand selection of the tonearm bearings for all models to ensure the tonearm's tracking was optimal and produced the most musical listening experience.
